Tamworth Tafe Embraces Hybrid Technology Tafe New England’s Tamworth campus is currently one of a select few training organisations that offer the Storage Endorsement course “Design and Install Grid Connected PV Systems with Batteries”. This course is recognised and accepted by the Clean Energy Council as proof of competency to obtain the new “battery storage” endorsement, for the design and/or installation of battery storage for grid-connected PV systems. A large emphasis of the course is the practical side of installing, maintaining and fault finding the grid-connected battery storage systems. Students are able to work with market leading products including Zeus Appollo’s Z21 Series Hybrid Inverter. Andrew Thomson from Zeus Appollo’s Brisbane office recently travelled to Tamworth to spend a day assisting students with the product and also to provide further knowledge on the topic of hybrid inverters and battery storage systems. Focus was placed on common installation errors as well as the importance of online monitoring. Hybrid and battery technology is becoming very complex and as a result it is both vital and cost effective to be able to retrieve as much data remotely as possible to resolve any issues. With the NSW “Solar Bonus Scheme” ending on December 31st 2016, there has never been a better time to consider hybrid inverter and battery storage options in NSW.
